Why Customer Pickup Rentals Are a Smart Option for Your Next Event

Why Customer Pickup Rentals Are a Smart Option for Your Next Event

Not every event requires fully-staffed delivery and setup. If you’re looking for an affordable way to add fun to your event while handling transportation yourself, ACP Entertainment’s customer pickup rentals are a great solution for your next event!

Our customer pickup rental program allows organizations, businesses, schools, churches, and event planners to rent select attractions directly from our Byron Center location. Simply pick up your rental from our Byron Center location, transport it to your event, and return it the following day. For weekend long events, the return equipment return would be the following Monday.

What Are Customer Pickup Rentals?

Customer pickup rentals are attractions that can be safely transported by the customer without requiring our team to help set up and tear down. This option helps reduce rental costs and distance charges while still giving your guests a memorable experience.

Customer pickup is a great choice for organizations that already have access to trucks, trailers, or staff who can handle transportation. Most customer pickup games fit in an SUV, minivan, pickup truck, or trailer. Our team will review transportation requirements and provide setup instructions before you leave. Each rental includes guidance to help ensure your games are ready for play at your event.

Safe Summer Fun on the Mechanical Bull

Safe Summer Fun on the Mechanical Bull

Summer is event season in Michigan! Parks fill with festivals, companies host employee appreciation picnics, churches bring communities together, and schools celebrate the end of another successful year. With so many entertainment options available, finding an attraction that keeps guests engaged can be a challenge. Our Mechanical Bull Rental for summer events offers something few attractions can: it entertains the people waiting in line just as much as the people riding. With every successful ride and unexpected fall, memorable moments are created.

Mechanical Bull Rental ACP

Entertainment That Brings People Together

The best attractions don’t just give people something to do—they create experiences everyone can enjoy.

Having a mechanical bull at your event will naturally bring your guests together. Friends cheer each other on, coworkers will challenge one another to stay on the longest, and families laugh together as each rider takes their turn. Even guests who never climb aboard often spend several minutes watching others try to beat the best time on the bull!

Whether your event has 100 guests or a thousand, a mechanical bull keeps people engaged throughout the duration of your event.

A Safe and Family-Friendly Attraction

When many people hear “mechanical bull,” they picture the fast, unpredictable bulls found in bars or nightclubs.

Our Mechanical Bull (or Shark & Unicorn), is completely different.

ACP Entertainment designed this attraction for families, schools, churches, and community events. Instead of creating an intimidating experience, our operators adjust every ride to match each participant’s age and comfort level.

This means first-time riders can enjoy a gentle experience while more adventurous guests can test their skills on higher difficulty settings.

That flexibility makes our bull one of the most age inclusive attractions available for summer events.

Safety Is Always ACP’s Top Priority

One of the first questions we hear from event organizers is:Mechanical Shark ACP Entertainment

“Is the mechanical bull safe?”

The answer is yes.

At ACP Entertainment, safety comes first and stands strong in our core values. Our bull rental includes several built-in safety features that help create a safer riding experience without sacrificing the fun.

These include:

  • A soft foam-style bull headMechanical Bull Rental ACP
  • Soft padded horns
  • A seamless inflatable safety mat surrounding the bull
  • Automatic ride programs designed for smooth, controlled operation

Every one of these features helps minimize risk while allowing riders to enjoy the excitement of trying to stay on the bull.

Every Ride Is Controlled by a Trained Operator

Of course, technology plays an important role in safety, but experienced operators make an even bigger difference.

Every Mechanical Bull Rental from ACP Entertainment includes a trained operator who focuses entirely on the rider and their ability throughout the experience.

Our operators carefully monitor every ride and adjust the speed and movement based on the rider’s ability. If someone begins to lose control or appears uncomfortable, the operator immediately stops the ride.

This hands-on approach helps create an experience that feels exciting while remaining controlled and appropriate for each guest on the bull.

Unicorn Mechanical Bull

Fun for Kids and Adults

One of our buckin’ bull rides biggest advantages is that the experience can be customized for different age groups!

Mechanical Shark ACP

Older children, teens, and adults begin on the Easy automatic program. Riders who successfully stay on can move to Medium and eventually Hard. Most participants never make it past the Easy level, making every successful ride feel like an accomplishment.

Anyone who stays on for 60 seconds officially beats the bull before making room for the next challenger.

The result is an attraction that offers plenty of excitement without requiring every rider to be an expert.

For younger children, parents can stand on the inflatable surface beside the bull while it gently rocks back and forth. This gives younger riders a chance to enjoy the attraction in a comfortable and supportive environment.

Mechanical Bull Rental

A Great Return on Entertainment Value

We understand that summer events often have limited budgets, so event organizers want attractions that provide continuous entertainment.

Our bull riding experience checks all the boxes!

Because each ride is different, guests continue watching throughout the duration of the event. New riders bring new reactions and skill levels, creating laughter and excitement from the first ride until the event ends.

Make Your Summer Event One to Remember

If you’re planning a corporate event, festival, church gathering, school celebration, or community event, our interactive bull ride is an attraction that all of your guests can enjoy safely, and while having fun!

With trained operators, family-friendly programming, built-in safety features, and entertainment for both riders and spectators, our buckin’ bull has become one of ACP Entertainment’s most popular attractions across Michigan.

Whether your guests are determined to beat the bull or simply enjoy cheering from the sidelines, everyone leaves with a fun story to tell.

How to Fund a Carnival Event

How to Fund a Carnival Event

Written By: Mailie Witthoeft

Rainbow over ACP Ferris Whee; One of the most common questions we hear at ACP Entertainment is:

“How much does it cost to rent___________?”

The answer to how to fund a carnival event depends on a multitude of variables. There are plenty of details that can quickly add up and contribute to the overall total of your invoice, starting with whether you plan on renting our full-scale carnival rides, interactive games, or inflatables. The location of your venue also plays a major role, alongside the event’s duration—both in terms of total days and daily operating hours. While many people are initially surprised by the upfront cost to rent our professional attractions, the good news is that you don’t have to break the bank. There are several highly effective ways to offset these expenses and make carnival-level entertainment fit comfortably into your budget.

Start With Your Budget

When starting to plan your event, don’t worry about knowing exactly which attractions you want right away. Going through all the options can feel a bit overwhelming at first! With that being said, it is helpful for our team to know if you already have specific rides, games, or inflatables in mind, as this allows us to quickly send over an accurate baseline quote.

However, if you aren’t sure yet, that is completely fine. More often than not, the first thing we like to ask our customers during the planning phase is, “What’s your budget?” This isn’t to “get the most out of you as possible” or to play tricks with the invoice, rather it’s so we can maximize your budget as much as possible.

Whether your budget is $500, $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, or more, our team can help design an event package that maximizes the fun while staying within your financial limits. Many event organizers assume they need a massive, full-scale midway to create a true carnival atmosphere. In reality, a strategic combination of rides, inflatables, midway games, and interactive attractions can create an amazing experience without breaking the bank.

Our team works with schools, churches, parks and recreation departments, municipalities, businesses, festivals, and nonprofit organizations every day to build spectacular events that fit a wide range of budgets.

Sell Tickets at Your Event to Offset Costs

One of the most effective ways to fund your event is by selling tickets or wristbands.

If you decide to go this route at your event you can charge a general admission fee, charge for a wristband, or sell individual ride tickets during the event. The revenue generated can help offset some or even a larger portion of the entertainment equipment expenses.

Some common options include:

  • Unlimited ride wristbands
  • Individual ride tickets
  • Game tickets
  • Family admission packages
  • Advance ticket sales

If your event is going to attract a large crowd, ticket sales can significantly reduce your overall cost and help make future events even bigger.

Find Event Sponsors

One of the most effective strategies to help fund your carnival event is securing local event sponsors. Businesses are always looking for high-visibility marketing opportunities, and a carnival offers the perfect stage for them to showcase their brand. For general attractions, you can offer companies the chance to sponsor individual rides or games with dedicated sponsor signs placed right next to the attraction—giving them exclusive bragging rights for that specific ride without any messy signs fastened to the perimeter fencing.

ACP Byron Days Event

Our spectacular Ferris Wheel offers even more premium, creative options for high-level sponsors. You can sell sponsorships for individual seats on the wheel, utilizing the built-in signboard slots located directly behind each seat. For a major title sponsor, you can offer naming rights to the entire Ferris Wheel, or even feature their logo right in the center of the action on our custom center “vanity” panel. Finally, for maximum exposure, consider offering logo placement on custom-printed wristbands that every attendee will wear throughout the day. By leveraging these diverse sponsorship packages, you can significantly offset your rental costs while giving local businesses a fantastic return on their investment.

Consider Fundraising Before the Event

If you’re planning your event months in advance, fundraising can be a great way to build up your entertainment budget. Even a few small fundraising efforts throughout the year can make a significant difference when it’s time to book attractions for your event.

To start building that budget early, look into classic prepay fundraisers like hosting a community car wash, organizing a bake sale, or partnering with local restaurants for a “spirit night” where a percentage of the evening’s proceeds go directly to your event fund. If you are a school or nonprofit, you can launch a student-led product sale (like gourmet popcorn, cookie dough, or custom merchandise) or host a themed trivia night with an entry fee for teams.

Prioritize the Attractions That Matter Most

You don’t need 10 rides to create an unforgettable event. Sometimes, choosing one spectacular centerpiece ride paired with a mix of inflatables and carnival games creates a much bigger impact than renting several smaller, similar attractions. Focusing on variety is definitely the way to go because it ensures there is something for everyone—some of your guests will always prefer games over rides, while others prefer rides over games.

By prioritizing a diverse lineup rather than just a high quantity of items, you can maximize your budget and create a better experience. When speaking with our team to help figure out that perfect mix, please provide us with the following details:

  • Outdoor eventYour Budget: Start here so we know exactly what we are working with.

  • Location: Where your event is being hosted.

  • Expected Attendance: How many guests you are planning for.

  • Event Purpose: What the event is for and who your primary audience is.

  • Event Goals: What you ultimately want to achieve with the event.

Our team is very knowledgeable on all of the amusement attractions we have to offer. Once we have these details, we will help you prioritize by recommending the specific attractions that provide the most value, variety, and entertainment for your unique audience.

Let Our ACP Team Help

At the end of the day, every single celebration is unique—there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all event package. The absolute best first step you can take is simply sharing your budget with us. From there, our passionate team will help you build a custom event plan that delivers that jaw-dropping, nostalgic carnival experience your guests are craving, all while keeping you safely within your financial comfort zone.

Behind the Scenes: What It Takes to Build a Carnival Event

Behind the Scenes: What It Takes to Build a Carnival Event

Written By: Mailie Witthoeft

ACP Entertainment EventWhen guests arrive at a carnival event, they see the bright lights, exciting rides, games, food trucks, and all the smiling faces. Feeling the nostalgic moments as an adult when you enter the gates, remembering the ride you asked your parents to go on with you a million times over. Or the excitement that overtakes your body as a kid when you see the tallest and fastest ride. What you may not see (and I, myself included) is the incredible amount of planning, equipment, and teamwork required to transform an empty parking lot into a fully operating event.

This is my second full week here at ACP Entertainment working as their marketing position. As someone who has never worked in the event industry, as a matter of fact, I have only ever worked in the restaurant industry throughout high school and college. Stepping into this new role felt just as exciting (and nerve racking) as strapping into our Momentum Drop Tower ride. Unsure of the ups and downs, learning curves, and new experiences that were ahead for me.

This week, I had the pleasure of being able to attend one of our larger events. I wanted to know the ins and outs of an event to answer a lot of my own questions. To know how to “market” an event, you have to know what goes into it. And let me start by saying this is no small task. Teamwork is one of our biggest core values, and once you get through my blog post, you too will understand why. It takes an army here, and we are just that.

The Event Begins In Our Office

At ACP Entertainment, every event starts long before the first guest walks through the gate. An event starts right here in our office. Our office team is here everyday Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm, to take calls, answer emails, and help guide our customers through planning their next perfect event. Kristin and Annie are our main sales team members. If you have ever booked an event with us, I am certain you have spoken directly with them. Both of them have the utmost knowledge of our business. Just in these 2 weeks I have heard a plethora of questions that each of them can answer directly on the spot. Anywhere from “How much does a Ferris wheel cost for the day?” to, “I am planning an end of the school year party and I have no idea where to start”. They know our rides, games, and inflatables like their ABC’s. They are eager to help each customer answer all their questions and help find the perfect rides, games, and inflatables for any event.

Once an event is booked through our office, we send over a “packing list” (super convenient) to our operations team. This is where they can go over what rides, games, and inflatables they will need to bring and what trucks are available to haul them. This also includes generators for the events we book that do not have access to power. Generators and that learning curve could be its own separate blog post. I won’t dive into that today.

After that our operations team puts together an event layout, so once our team arrives at the event we can place each ride, game, and inflatable in the correct spot. This is for safety, accessibility, and also aesthetics of an event. If something does not work, or our customer does not approve of the layout, we change the layout according to their needs.

The Journey Begins with the Trucks and Trailers

Velocity Super Slide

Before a single ride can be assembled, our equipment has to arrive safely at the event site.

Each carnival ride travels on specialized trailers designed to transport large ride components efficiently and securely. Depending on the size of the event, multiple trucks and trailers may be required to move rides, games, fencing, generators, lighting equipment, and support equipment.

Coordinating the transportation of an entire carnival is like putting together a giant puzzle. Every trailer has a designated place and schedule to ensure setup begins as smoothly as possible once we arrive.

Unloading and Site Preparation

Once our team arrives, the first step is preparing the site. Crew members review the layout plans and determine exactly where each ride, game, and inflatable will be located. Proper spacing is important not only for guest safety but also traffic flow, accessibility, and visibility. Our crew is backing up each trailer multiple times (and I mean MULTIPLE) until we are in the exact location that was planned for the event.

Building the Rides

Ferris WheelThis is where the transformation really begins and our ACP team hits the ground SPRINTING. Every ride arrives almost in sections if you can imagine that, and must be carefully assembled by our trained professionals. Our crew works together to raise towers, connect ride arms, install seating systems, secure safety restraints, and connect electrical components. Each ride has its own unique setup process. Some attractions can be assembled relatively quickly, while larger rides require additional time, equipment, and manpower. Specifically our Ferris Wheel, it looks like it would be a pain to put together and it certainly is no small job to say the least. Throughout the process, our team follows detailed procedures to ensure every component is installed correctly and safely. Watching our team put together an entire carnival in basically an hour was mind blowing to me. Every team member has something in their hands at all times or is moving to a new ride to start setting it up or help with the set up process. Even though each of our team members is assigned a ride to assemble at an event, each one of them is more than willing to step in where needed. Most of our team members have the knowledge and experience to put together just about any ride we have. Teamwork is not just a core value to display on our website. Teamwork is at the heart of who we are, guiding our values, and shaping everything we do.

Safety Comes First

Safety is our main priority here at ACP and our first core value. Not only because it has to be, but because we truly care about our guests and their experience. Before any ride can open to the public, it undergoes multiple inspections and testing procedures. It was so cool to watch the team turn on the rides after seeing each ride literally in pieces an hour beforehand. Magic, some might say, but I think our operations team would say that it’s a whole lot of manual labor.

Our ACP team carefully checks mechanical systems, electrical connections, safety restraints, and operational controls. Rides are test-cycled multiple times to ensure everything functions properly before we let our first guest onto our rides.

Safety is not just a step in the process—it’s part of everything we do from arrival to opening the gates of an event.

How Fast Can a Carnival Be Built?

Mind Winder SwingOne of the questions I have asked myself and I am sure many of our customers wonder is, “How long does it take to set everything up?”

The answer depends on the size of the event, the number of rides, occasionally weather conditions, and site requirements. However, what really surprised me is how quickly an experienced crew can transform an empty lot into a fully functioning carnival. Thanks to years of experience, detailed planning, and teamwork, our ACP team can assemble multiple rides and attractions in a remarkably short amount of time. What looks impossible to many guests and customers is simply another fun day on the job for our dedicated team.

“A Team” Effort

At the heart of every successful event our team puts on, is an experienced crew that works extremely hard behind the scenes to make the magic happen. From our drivers and setup teams to ride operators and office staff, every team member plays an important role in creating a safe, fun, and memorable experience for our guests.

The next time you visit an ACP Entertainment event, take a moment to appreciate everything that happened before opening day. I can tell you that now I have a greater appreciation and understanding of what truly goes into putting on an event. Behind every ride, every light, and every smile is our hardworking “A-team” committed to bringing the fun and excitement to your event.
